Auto-Tune for Max For Live

If you blow at singing like I do, you’ve probably given up on trying. And if you’re like me, you have probably dreamt about one day owning Antares Auto-Tune software, which allows anyone to sing like Kanye West and T-Pain and just about every other urban music singer on the radio. But if you are like me, you almost certainly don’t have $400 to drop on a Antares Auto-Tune EVO license. Fortunate for you and I my friend, the dreaming is over (if you own Ableton Live 8 + Max For Live). Oli Larkin from the UK has ported Tom Baron’s open source auto-tune software to Max/MSP, which I have successfully ported (with minimal effort) to Max For Live. What does it mean? It means that Ableton Live now has auto-tune and it’s free. Want more info, please visit Oli and Tom’s sites.

Under the “Files” section above, look for “Max Auto-tune.amxd”
The other file is a dependency file that you need to put in your “msp-externals” folder.

Drag the AMXD file into Live’s Device Tray or into a track.
