USC Technopreneurs

technopreneurs

Description

The purpose of this organization is to foster collaboration between students of engineering and business backgrounds, weekly in an open, forum environment. We connect ideas with means, by connecting business ideas with developers and connecting developed products with business people. We’ve established a networking environment that extends beyond our weekly meetings. Our community website allows members to follow up with one another and present ideas and development updates. Our organization has collaborated with other student organizations to promote relevant events on campus. Additionally, as an organization, we have managed to establish working relationships with groups and individuals from the Los Angeles business community.

The USC Technopreneurs was founded by Grant Nestor in Spring 2007. There currently 53 active members. In addition to the weekly meetings, the Technopreneurs have organized and/or promoted the following events:

  • Annual Business Pitch Feedback Session: allow students to pitch their ideas and projects to a panel of entrepreneurs and angel investors
  • Monthly on-campus Tech Coast Angel screenings
  • Campus-wide Google All-Nighter Coding Contest
